Golden Goddess Milk


HAPPY FALL! Here is one of the best anti-inflammatory and immune system boosting drinks!

Turmeric is such a miracle spice. I love curries and anything that includes turmeric. Turmeric is a plant in the ginger family and is native to Southeast Asia. One of the main properties in turmeric is curcumin, which is where the healing properties are thought to be from.

This latte is so good for an evening night cap. The trick is the coconut oil and peppercorns to increase absorption. Its a golden ticket if you are fighting off a cold or having trouble sleeping. It's my favorite drink for fall afternoons because of its amazing aroma when heating it over the stove. Here we go! Serves 2.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of coconut or almond milk ***

  • 1 tsp of organic turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp of coconut oil

  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick

  • dash of pepper or 3 peppercorns

  • Freshly grated ginger root- about 1/2 tsp

  • 1/4 tsp of maple syrup (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  • Add all of the ingredients to a saucepan whisk

  • Let simmer for 5-10 minutes- the longer you simmer it for the stronger the flavor is

  • Taste and adjust as necessary- this is when I add a dash of maple syrup or more cinnamon

  • You can strain and pour it into a mug directly from here or I like to strain it into my Vitamix blender and make it more frothy.

  • Enjoy!!

***You can add some hot water if you don't want to use all milk.
